How to Create an API Key in Medallion
⚠️ Important Considerations
The API details, including the name, expiration date, and technical contacts cannot be edited after creating the API Key
When your API key is created at the end of this process, it will only be viewable at that time. Once you close the window there will be no way to view it again or recover it. Be prepared to copy and paste the key to a secure document or password management app (i.e. 1password.)
Navigate to the API Keys page on the Integrations tab on the left-hand navigation bar
Click the blue Create API Key on the top right corner of the page
In the pop up window, fill out the form
Name your API key - if you plan on creating multiple keys for different purposes, be sure to name it something clearly related to the use of the key.
Expiration Date (optional) - if the key is intended for temporary use, you can preset a date when it will be automatically deactivated
Technical Contacts - add the email and name of the person who will be responsible for the key and will receive notifications related to it's operation.
If you would like to add additional technical contacts, click the Add Technical Contact button (optional)
Click the blue Create API Key button on the bottom right of the pop up to create the key. Remember to save your API key now! You will not be able to see it again!
Revoking your API Key
At any time you can navigate back to the API Keys page and click Revoke on the far right side of the page. This cannot be undone.
